HOW A GRAIN OF ACQUERELLO RICE WAS BORN

Today, on March, 19th 2014, the rice fields in Tenuta Colombara has started to be flooded. This is an old tradition for the Rondolino family, that was set on every March 19th, on Saint Joseph’s festivity (that is, on Father’s Day), and mark the beginning of the rice fields watering.

Piero has always carried on this tradition, in memory of his mum Giuseppina, on the same day where the whole house was filled up with the flowers colors and scent that were brought to her as presents by relatives and friends. Today Rinaldo brings forward this tradition, started by Piero, his dad. Therefore, on March, 19th , according to Rondolino’s customs, the story of Acquerello The Ultimate Rice finds its very beginning.

Every year the history renews itself at the start of the each Spring season, when the rice fields get watered, reflecting the landscape, the mountains and the Tenuta Colombara farm, such as in the image represented on the Acquerello tin.
