Each of us is emotionally attached to a place that is often an important part of our lives and would like it to be protected forever. It is actually in this spirit that the idea to enter the Tenuta Torrone della Colombara Estate into the project of a National Census entitled “I Luoghi del Cuore – Places of the Heart” was born. The project is sponsored by the FAI in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, which asks people to report treasures they love and would like to save. The project aims to actively involve people of all ages and nationalities, to raise awareness of our artistic heritage and to support collaboration between communities and institutions in order to protect and enhance our heritage.
We will tantalize and delight you with the food creations of chef Christian Milone, Eugenio Boer, and Giuseppe Iannotti and our Acquerello rice will be accompanied by fantastic products: Tartuflanghe truffles, Gragnano pasta by Pastificio dei Campi, cold cuts and Tuscan salami by Savigni, organic Piedmont breadsticks and snacks by La Buona Terra.

On Saturday, June 21st at 10 am on Channel 5, Acquerello will be the main guest on ‘MelaVerde’ TV program, dedicated to agriculture and presented by Edoardo Raspelli and Ellen Hidding. ‘The Word Ambassador’: that’s the head title of the episode, during which Edoardo Raspelli, joined by Piero and Maria Nava Rondolino will tell the production process, from the rice field to the mill and the kitchen, following each stage and explain why Acquerello The Ultimate Rice has become the Ambassador of the Made in Italy food in the world.
Gianni Berengo Gardin has been awarded the ‘Marco Bastianelli Prize’ for his work ‘An Italian Story of Rice’ as the best photographic book in 2014. The book, published by Contrasto, recalls a piece of Italian history, with its images, traditions and memories. As the only Italian who has won the Lucie Award, the Oscar-like prize in Photography, the Master stayed in Tenuta Colombara between the years 2010 and 2011, when he set into images the heritage of past life and present days. His black and white photographs tell the story of the Rondolino family and Tenuta Torrone della Colombara, the family farm where memories are kept of those people who – through the years – have dedicated their lives to the rice cultivation to create an excellence in Made in Italy products: Acquerello The Ultimate Rice.
